Programme Neurociència

Discoveries about the brain’s structure and functioning reveal the bases of human experience and behaviour. The contributions of neuroscience have profound consequences on how we see ourselves, how we relate to others and how we interact with the world around us. The advances made in this field, therefore, have ever-greater economic, social and cultural impact.

The Federation of European Neuroscience Societies (FENS) has decided to hold its biennial meeting in Barcelona in July next year. To coincide with this event, SENC, the Spanish Society of Neuroscience, has declared 2012 Neuroscience Year in Spain.

Neuroscience Year presents an outstanding opportunity to bring neuroscience to the public, promoting the dissemination of scientific knowledge in our country in general and Barcelona in particular. Various public and private institutions, research centres and universities and cultural stakeholders in the city will all be joining in the celebrations by organising educational activities aimed at the general public.

We are pleased to invite you to enjoy this interesting programme of activities centred on the human mind as seen from many different angles, and that will take place from autumn 2011 and throughout 2012.
