Hall 1. Ancient world
(5th century BC-4th century AD)


The first hall housing the sculpture collection is dedicated to the Ancient World. Here one can see Iberian ex-votive offerings, terracotta, bronze pieces and Punic, Hellenistic and Roman lanterns, in addition to different sculptures and portraits such as that of Octavian Caesar Augustus. One of the most outstanding works is the front of the sarcophagus of Layos, which dates from the 4th century AD.
