The Asia Festival 2011, organised by the Casa Àsia, is presenting this acclaimed Japanese jam-band, also known as “The Samurai Jazz Band”, for the first time in Barcelona. A five-piece band (trumpeter, saxophone player, double bassist, drummer and keyboard player) in search of the most eclectic instrumental jazz possible, with nods to rock and pop, funk, ska and the Latin sound, never straying from the traditional side of their country. Starting out as street musicians in the Shibuya district, they saw their popularity and prestige rise very quickly, which led them to become regular fixtures at top Japanese festivals and took them on tour everywhere. A direct impression from the Japanese capital.
