Little Scream is the project of American – now resident in Canada – Laurel Sprengelmeyer. Her powerful voice grabs listeners in tracks on the famous High Violet album (2010) by The National. She recently displayed her own creativity with her first solo album, the folk, pop and psychedelic The Golden Record (2011), of varying cloudiness: floating and calming one moment; torrential the next; and on some tracks a combination of the two. With Richard Reed Parry (Arcade Fire) on production, Laurel has recorded some really alive songs, which, when performed live, are truly overwhelming.
