In just a few months, this Chilean singer-songwriter has gone from being the best-kept secret of a few to becoming one of the rising stars of Spanish-language pop. All this is thanks to the songs on MENA (2010), her second album, influenced by 1980s Diana Ross and the autumnal Pet Shop Boys of Behaviour, to name just two of her many revered references. Songs to dance to with tears in your eyes, with infectious rhythms but intimate and introspective lyrics. Her great live performances have simply confirmed Mena as the brightest star on the new scene in Chile.
