Following his stint with hip hop duo Emanom, US performer Egbert Nathaniel Dawkins III has taken the alias Aloe Blacc and become one of the leading lights of the new soul revival movement. His single I Need A Dollar became the hymn of the economic recession. Blacc, however, is no one-hit-wonder: on the amazing album Good Things (2010) he also seduces us with the funk blaxploitation of Hey Brother, the psychedelia of Miss Fortune and the curious version of Femme Fatale (The Velvet Underground).
